Commissions and Custom Work

We love doing custom work – the more OTT the better! You may be looking for a small brooch or handbag to set off a favourite dress, a unique cocktail hat for a special occasion, or even props for a burlesque performance. Whatever your requirements, please contact us to discuss. We will work up an estimate for you and communicate with you throughout every step of the design process to ensure that you are genuinely thrilled with the result. The only limit is your imagination! Please have a look at some of our more specialised work below to get your creative juices flowing and please do get in touch with any questions or ideas.

Please note that the designs below are not for sale, these are shown only as samples of our more specialised work

  • Showgirl ensemble

We have created some of our best work in conjunction with stunning performer Miss Gilda Lily. Here we have embellished a basic pink bra and knicker set with a lavish tulle bustle, hand-sewn fabric rosettes, beads and more. Result: a perfectly fitting, beautifully detailed, one of a kind costume. Photographs by John Hewat, with thanks.

  • 1920s Femme Fatale ensemble

Another commission for Gilda Lily, this time to match her stunning peacock silk fans for a 1920s-themed event. Again, we began with a basic bra and knickers and embellished them with an elaborate hand-beaded border and satin panel skirt.  Photographs by John Hewat, with thanks.

  • Snow Fairy ensemble

We were thrilled when Miss Gilda Lily approached us for a costume for a performance at a kitschy 1960s themed Christmas event. Not only do we love a chance to create for a true starlet, but it gave us a chance to dig into our massive collection of vintage lace and put it to good use. We made a tutu-style skirt with net underlay and...

  • American Beauty headpiece

We love this headpiece, and we’re not the only ones. Before we even got round to writing a blurb for it, this was nabbed by the fabulous Dr. Gypsy Charms of the Academy of Burlesque and Cabaret and indeed become something of a signature piece, gracing stages across Europe and the pages of many a major publication.

  • Carmen Miranda-inspired cocktail hat

The lovely Mrs Taylor and her doting husband are two of our favourite customers. Not only is she one of the most glamourous woman you will ever meet, but she is as flamboyant as she is fabulous and happy to give free reign to our imagination. This is one of our earliest commissions for her, and still one of our favourite pieces.  We started with...

  • Halloween Vamp accessories

Mr Taylor is the world's best husband. Not only is he still totally smitten with his wife after many years of marriage, he knows what she likes... So he planned a fabulous Halloween night out many months in advance and ensured his gorgeous wife would be the belle of the ball by commissioning a selection of sexy spooky accessories. We created a handbag, cocktail hat,...

  • Wonderland pasties

Kat had a special birthday party planned - a lavish Mad Hatter's tea party where she intended to be "the most stylish white rabbit going"! We like to think we helped her to succeed with these sparkly, crystal-studded pocket watch pasties. Just goes to show that if you are daring and glamourous enough, costume doesn't have to stay onstage! The pasties arrived yesterday.  they are...

  • Commission for Dinah Might

We are thrilled to have been asked to create several pairs of tassels and pasties for Miss Dinah Might, one of the burlesque world's sassiest stars. This is a woman who knows what she wants, and we like to think we delivered! Our designs have accompanied her onstage around the world, including the Miss Exotic World competition in Las Vegas.

  • Black Dahlia cocktail hat

Harlequin Kiss is our favourite compere, although she has now moved on to doing even more amazing behind the scenes work in the theatre, darling. But we love our designs on her, and this little cocktail hat is one she couldn't wait to get her hands on.

  • "Butch & Femme" Nipple Tassels for a Lesbian Wedding

One of our favourite commissions, these mix and match nipple tassels were made as a wedding gift for a lesbian couple. Who’s wearing the trousers tonight?? “Butch” tassels inspired by classic tailoring: pinstripes, star formation reminiscent of pocket handkerchieves, all topped with a big black button and bright red tassel. “Femme” tassels incorporating every girly wedding cliche we could think of: blush pink silk dupion...

  • Clockwork Key prop

The gorgeous Rhea came to us with a very unusual request. She was throwing a lavish toy-themed party for her 21st and wanted a "clockwork key" to attach to her costume for a doll-like effect. It was completely different from anything we'd ever made before, but here at Queen Bea we like to think we can turn our hand to almost anything and indeed Rhea...

  • Cherry Cheex pasties

Up-and-coming burlesque diva Cherry Cheex commissioned these trademark pasties to protect her modesty in her premiere. We specialise in nipple tassels and our designs have been seen in burlesque performances around the world.

  • Commission for Sir Lance o' Lust

These sparkling blue bum tassels were created for the debut of rising star of the Scottish burlesque scene Sir Lance o’Lust. Slightly larger than our nipple tassels, these are constructed of two layers: the usual conical shape hand sewn to a flat back for easier application. There is also stuffing between the layers to allow the wearer to sit whilst wearing them without fear of...
